Basic Job Description for the Controls Manager

The position of Controls Manager will join a manufacturing company and will
be responsible to create standards and programs around the controls
engineering function. The Controls Manager  position is important to help
the company in reaching thier financial goals. This position will partner
with the Engineering, Maintenance and Operations Teams to focus on projects
and initiatives in the area of electrical and programmable logic control
units within operations. This Controls Manager position will be at the
forefront of automation initiatives for the entire organization.

Basic Responsibilities of the Controls Manager :

. Develop and maintain electrical control systems for machines and
manufacturing processes as well as large scale network architecture design
. Be part of the deployment of a large scale learning program that includes
PLC and HMI programming as well as general controls system knowledge
. Develop our organizational technical competencies surrounding programming
and controls systems
. Work on the integration design of ABB robotic packaging equipment
. Write, edit, and enhance PLC programs for new and existing equipment

Qualifications: Minimum Education, Skills & Experience Qualifications, Required :

. Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or relavant
. 10 years of large system programming experience including: PLC ladder
logic, HMI screens and servo motion control
. Demonstrated track record of attention to detail and strong analytical
. Superior technical skills
. Strong communication and presentation skills
. Electrical trouble shooting skills
. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team based environment
. At least 6 years of proven experience in project management/leadership
. Travel , US up to 25%

Specific Hardware Qualifications, Required:

PLC: SLC 500, Micrologix (1000, 1100, 1200, 1500), ControlLogix,
CompactLogix, FlexLogix, SoftLogix
Servo: AB Ultra 3000, Kinetix 6000
AC Drives: Allen Bradley (160,1305, Powerflex 4, Powerflex 70
HMI: Allen Bradley Panelview Standard, Panelview Plus

Specific Software Qualifications Required:

Allen Bradley RSLogix (500, 5000), RSView 32 (ME, SE), RSNetworx for
Devicenet, Controlnet, Ethernet, Panelbuilder 32, RSLinx, Drive Explorer,
Windows (XP, 2000 Professional, Windows Office Suite, ACAD 2000, Some
Exposure to Wiring Diagrams)
