Job Title: Lead Corrosion Engineer

Lead Corrosion Engineer  
Responsible for providing technical expertise and
leadership on corrosion related issues with pipelines, pressure piping and
pressure equipment. 
Also support Integrity Management Systems through the development and maintenance of
effective corrosion mitigation, monitoring and inspection programs. 
Corrosion group assists in the development of standards,
specifications and best practices, and provides training to engineers and
operators on integrity management programs and procedures.
Provide leadership to the Corrosion Services group, including
administrative and organizational responsibilities regarding performance and
accountabilities of all team members.
Provide technical leadership in regards to chemical mitigation, cathodic protection,
protective coatings, in-line inspection and monitoring programs
Provide technical expertise to Facilities Engineering in the
design and selection of corrosion resistant materials, corrosion mitigation
and monitoring systems
Participate in the development and implementation of Corporate
Asset Integrity Management Systems and related integrity programs
Participate in the review of pipeline integrity risk
assessments, pipeline failure investigations, repair recommendations and
Provide technical input into specifications, standards and procedures
Provide training, mentoring and direction
Provide monthly pipeline incident reporting and Asset Integrity
activity updates

Engineering Degree Corrosion Science, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, relevant.
NACE membership / certifications preferred.
10+ years of experience working in the field of corrosion
engineering for pipelines, pressure equipment and facilities.
Experience with cathodic protection system design and monitoring
Extensive experience with corrosion inhibitor applications and
monitoring techniques
Strong working knowledge of pipelines standards and regulations.
Extensive knowledge of production fluid properties and flow dynamics
Previous experience working in pipeline and/or facilities
construction would be beneficial
Technical knowledge and expertise in risk based inspections
and/or process hazard analysis would be a definite asset
Experience with protective coating systems, application and
repair would be beneficial
Previous experience in conducting failure analysis on metallic
and non-metallic pipelines, piping and equipment would be beneficial
