Job Title: Wind Projects Development Engineer (civil)

Description: Wind Projects Development Engineer (civil)
Portland, Oregon

 Interface and work closely with development, energy assessment,
engineering and construction personnel to ensure that project needs and
objectives are satisfied;
Prepare and maintain realistic wind farm layouts, using AutoCAD.
(Optimize the layout of wind farm access roads, crane pads, crane paths,
collection systems, substations, switchyards, transmission lines, O&M
Building, etc., based upon turbine layout, land boundaries, environmental
studies, topography and other constraints.);
 Provide site due-diligence review for greenfield and operating wind
farm project sites;
Provide support for preparation of schedules, estimates and budgets;
 Preparation of scopes of work for civil design, geotechnical
investigation, environmental studies, foundations and surveying activities,
and other field related support services;
 Preparation of request for proposals (RFP's), obtain bids, resolves
clarification to bids, evaluate proposals and recommends award of contracts;
Direct, manage or support the work performed by civil and electrical
engineers, environmental consultants, surveyors, geotechnical consultants,
and other services, as required;
 Direct and manage the due-diligence review of the wind farm
structural and electrical design by a third party consultant or bank's
Support or manage technical aspects of boundary surveys, mappings
and American Land and Title Association (ALTA) surveys;
 Provide technical review and comment to detailed civil design and
engineering performed by others;
 Provide environmental permitting support for compliance with local,
State and Federal requirements;
    Provide technical assistance related to electronic file format
    Support or manage File Transfer Protocol (FTP) sites;
     Participate in and/or lead project meetings and conference calls;
    Provide verbal and written project status updates and reports;
    Ensure the production of quality engineering plans and
specifications, while ensuring compliance with project and industry
requirements, codes and standards;
    Participate in the engineering, design and construction review
processes, as required; and
    Maintain and foster professional relationships with consulting
engineers, geotechnical engineers, environmental consultants, contractors
and equipment suppliers.

Qualifications: BS in Civil Engineering from accredited college or university.
4+ years of design and engineering related experience is preferred.
Ability to perform standard civil discipline mathematical
calculations, equations and problem solving.
Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, and other
documents related to development, engineering and construction.
Possess and demonstrate good verbal and written communication
skills, and work well with other.
Ability to plan, coordinate, and analyze situations.
Possess good personal computer application skills or the ability to
learn applications including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft
Project, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, GIS and discipline
related design programs.
Possess good time management skills and demonstrated efficiency in
providing engineering support on multiple concurrent projects.
Ability to effectively direct and manage the detailed civil,
structural and architectural design performed by outside consultants.
Ability to plan, schedule, track and monitor project progress.
Ability to read, understand, create and follow written policies and
Possess experience and abilities relating to electronic processing
and filing of drawings, specifications, budgets, reports, project schedules,
data, and other electronic documents.
Knowledge of and ability to apply applicable industry standards
Knowledge of land surveying methods and practices, aerial
photography and mapping, including UTM and NAD coordinate systems
 Use of high accuracy handheld Global Positioning System (GPS).
Frequent travel to the corporate offices and project related travel
is expected.
