Job Title: Assistant Site Manager, Wind Farm Construction

Description: Assistant Site Manager, Wind Farm Construction. Kansas Assistant Site Manager with specific oversight of civil engineering activities at a wind farm construction site. Provide support to the Site Project Manager and the other members of his/her project management team during the construction phase of a wind farm project, with an emphasis on: o Safety and security o Quality o Schedule o Costs o Environmental o Legal and permitting . Provide Quality Assurance inspector support to ensure the township road improvements, private access roads, crane pads, wind turbine foundations, substations, transmission line and lay down yard are built in accordance with the civil design documents. . Manage project construction activities, ensuring Quality, Schedule, Cost, Safety, Environmental and Landowner requirements are met or exceeded. . Direct the execution of work in accordance with approved contracts and ensure compliance. . Develop effective relationships with contractors, suppliers, landowners and the community. . Develop effective and supportive relationships with colleagues. . Become completely familiar with all project documents. . Review plans and procedures periodically and institute changes if necessary. . Foster and develop a spirit of project team effort. . Ensure contractors abide by their own QA/QC Quality Plans . Provide support in reviewing all contractor supplied QA/QC documentation for completeness. . Identify critical issues and make recommendations to the Project Manager for their resolution. . Step-up to Site Project Manager as requested.

Qualifications: Engineering degree and 15-20 years of technical, engineering and construction experience including a minimum of 10 years of supervisory experience, 10 years of management and electric utility/cogeneration experience, and 15 years of construction experience. Additionally, demonstrated experience with EPC type projects is required. Experience in the engineering and construction of wind farms is a plus. Working knowledge of state, federal and insurance regulations as well as requirements that apply to major power plant design and construction projects. Demonstrated ability to develop high level management control programs. Perform cost/benefits analysis, both the short and long versions. Experience relating to computer processing of cost and schedule information. Be proficient in short and long range planning techniques. Knowledge of federal licensing requirements for power stations. Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing. Thorough understanding of construction contracts and associated paperwork requirements. Demonstrated ability to give presentations and perform training in both the management and technical areas, in addition to developing such programs.
