Job Title: Lead Electrical Engineer (Wind Farm Projects)
Lead Electrical Engineer (Wind Farm Projects)
Electrical engineering for wind farm project engineering team.
Direct and manage the work performed by electrical engineering
consultants. Maintain and foster consulting engineer and equipment supplier
contacts. Ensure the production of quality electrical engineering plans and
specifications, while ensuring compliance with project, company and industry
requirements and standards.
Act as the subject matter expert on technical activities and
support, relative to grid interconnect criteria and processes.
Direct electrical systems work including interconnection to the transmission
Act as primary liaison for all electrical issues for wind farms
Assist in conceptual design of wind farm electrical collection systems
Lead major equipment (transformers, breakers, etc.) specification,
evaluation and selection process.
Assist in standardization of electrical designs, specifications, etc.
Review of utility interconnection facility studies
Review of project design considerations for steady state, power
factor, short circuit, transient analysis, grounding, protective device
coordination, arc flash, SCADA interface design, and communication systems
Monitor construction progress and support resolution of field issues
Support operating facilities with electrical procedure development
Perform and/or review electrical discipline calculations and
equations, including but not limited to electric circuit calculations,
3-phase power and ampacity, impedance, sizing of conductors and calculation
of losses, reactive power, verification of proper phase rotation and sizing
of overhead transmission lines and hardware.
Qualifications: Degree electrical engineering
7+ years HV/MV substation design and construction
NESC and ANSI/IEEE standards and codes
