Job Title: Sr Director of Information Technology Strategy & Systems
Location: Massachusetts, Boston
IT / Senior-Director/ MIS / Support Services / strategic automation/
information sys/ SCADA, PICS & Security/ Utility Service Company /
regulatory & compliance records management systems/ ASP, JAVA, SQL, .NET,
XML, C, HTML, Crystal/ Unix and current Microsoft PC DBMS(Oracle and/orSQL)
Develops, recommends and implements an integrated
information technology strategy which meets the
overall needs of company and its operating units.
Oversees the development and implementation of
strategic and tactical plans for automation/technology,
applications, information systems training,
telecommunications, and cyber-security, library
and records management.
-Supervises staff of 8 or more within a department of 55
professional & staff personnel.
-Develops and implements, in conjunction with other senior
managers, the long-term vision and strategy for information
systems and technology.
-Provides leadership and direction for all information systems,
telecommunications and technology
activities companywide and between operating units
and outside technical consultants.
-Oversees all technology improvements and support for the
Emergency Operations Center.
-Directs department management staff in the successful execution of
information technology plans and operations.
-Oversees a comprehensive cyber-security program to reduce
risk of threats, breaches, intrusions, and system downtime.
- Coordinates the total use of all information-related technologies within
the company - including as appropriate, SCADA, PICS and Security.
-Oversees the company's records management in compliance with applicable
- Develops and implements a strong functional organization required to
implement the information technology strategy and plans.
-Oversees preparation and management of current expense and
capital budgets impacting the department and specific
management information systems projects and
activities for the company. Recruits, develops, and retains
technical and professional staff.
Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-A four (4)-year college Bachelors program in management science, or a
related field. or Masters in Business Administration or advanced degree
field is preferred.
-16 years of experience in information technology, of which 9 years must be
in a managerial capacity
- or Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience
-Technical knowledge in a broad range of technologies and systems sufficient
to understand issues and to develop and implement information technology
solutions to business problems. Includes , but is not limited to
several programming languages, WEB-based interfaces and reporting
tools (such as, ASP, JAVA, SQL, .NET, XML, C, HTML, Crystal
-multi-site and complex data networks and topologies; cyber-security
products & controls
-Current hardware and technologies (including PCs, servers, switches, SANs,
OCR, GPS, OC,
- software, telecommunication devices (PBXes, blackberries, and radios a
plus); various operating systems (including Unix and current Microsoft PC
and server offerings); DBMS (Oracle and/or SQL); ERPs and related
administrative applications and systems (Lawson and Hyperion a plus);
-asset management and inventory applications (MAXIMO a plus);
-geographical and geo-spatial products (ARC/Info a plus);
-environmental, manufacturing or pharmaceutical applications (laboratory
permitting and instrumentation a plus);
- Intranet and Internet platforms; Exchange; and PC software (such as
Microsoft Office, Auto-Cad, etc.).
- A strong track record of accomplishments in moving an information
technology operation into a leading position within an organization.
- Demonstrated skills in managing complex, diverse information technology
- Strong orientation to business goals, objectives, and bottom line results.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
are also required.
